“In the Eye of the Storm. Modernism in Ukraine” (Great Britain)

“In the Eye of the Storm. Modernism in Ukraine” (Great Britain)

Ukrainian modernism is now in London!

The exhibition “In the Eye of the Storm. Modernism in Ukraine, 1900–1930” is open for visitors at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. The British public will see the works of Davyd Burliuk, Oleksandra Ekster, Anatol Petrytskyi, Oleksandr Bohomazov, Mykhailo Boichuk and his students, representatives of the Culture League, and others.

The exhibition presents the works from the collections of the National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema of Ukraine. This is already the fifth location of the project in less than two years: first it was exhibited in the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid (Spain), then in the Ludwig Museum in Cologne (Germany), the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels (Belgium), and now in the capital of Great Britain.

Curatorial group: Kostiantyn Akinsha (independent art historian and curator), Katia Denysova (art historian and doctoral student at the Courteau Art Institute, London), Olena Kashuba-Volvach (head of the 19th-early 20th century art department, NAMU)

The exhibition will last until October 13, 2024.
