Masterpieces of Ukrainian Secession in Bratislava!
From June, 22 today til September 22, 2024, the exhibition project “In the Eye of the Storm. Secession in Ukraine”, as before in Vienna, now on show in Bratislava in Slovak National Gallery. European viewers have the opportunity to see 38 works from the NAMU collection, including works by Oleksandr Murashko, Fedir and Vasyl Krychevskyi, Heorhii Narbut, Vsevolod Maksymovych, Mykhailo Zhuk and others.
The formation of Secession in Ukrainian art coincided with the active search for a national style. Therefore, visitors of the exhibition have a great opportunity to appreciate the originality of Ukrainian artists.
In addition to works from the NAMU collection, the exhibition also presents works from the collections of other museums of Ukraine: the National Museum in Lviv named after Andrei Sheptytskyi, the Dnipro Art Museum, the Mykola Yaroshenko Poltava Art Museum, and private collections.
Curators of the project: Kostyantyn Akinsha, curator, researcher of modernism and avant-garde, and Maryna Drobotiuk, chief curator of NAMU, researcher of modernism, Katarína Beňová, curator from SNG.
