Back in the spring, from April 29 to May 5, the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation together with the DUKAT Auction House held an auction selling Mariia Prymachenko’s painting Flowers grew around the fourth block in 1990. The Fund sent all the received money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ihor Ponamarchuk and Daria Dobrian donated the work for the auction from their family collection. Mariia Prymachenko’s family supported the auction and refused to receive a royalty to sell the painting in favor of the Armed Forces. The painting was bought by a Ukrainian from abroad for $ 500,000. For the first time in the history of charity auctions, a Ukrainian painting was purchased for such a sum. Serhiy Prytula’s Charitable Foundation used the funds to buy 125 buses for the Armed Forces.
However, the story of the art that works for victory hasn’t end there. The other day the National Art Museum of Ukraine accepted the painting Flowers grew near the fourth block by Mariia Prymachenko. When the museum reopens to visitors, we plan to present this work in a permanent exhibition. Let the canvas of the outstanding artist be another symbol of the unity of Ukrainians in the dark days.
