Artist-talk with Nadia Kaabi-Linke

Artist-talk with Nadia Kaabi-Linke

On July 28 at 5:00 p.m., there will be a meeting with the artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke at NAMU, during which we will talk about the creation of the exhibition project “Squeezed in Infinity”, how the idea of cooperation with the museum arose and how it is related to scientific research of little-known Ukrainian phenomena art of the 20th century. We will focus on the issues of artistic approaches to work with “uncomfortable” heritage, complex past or violently erased pages of history.

We will appeal to the vast professional experience of Nadia Kaabi-Linke, who systematically explores the themes of violence, migration and the hidden historical and geopolitical mechanisms driving the modern world. The artist collaborated with leading institutions around the world, and her works belong to the most prestigious museum collections.
We will also talk about how her formation was influenced by ties with Kyiv, how today she is connected to the Ukrainian cultural context, about her foreign projects, which highlight the topic of Ukraine and the current situation, in particular, about the large retrospective “Seeing without Light”, which opens at the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum in Berlin this September and how it relates to the current museum project.

July 28, 5 p.m.

Entry is free with mandatory prior registration.

You can get to the museum through the service entrance located at the back of the building.
